Hi All,

Many people already know that Mr. Borgeson is retiring and its just days away now!  As we prepared for his special send off, I realized that over the course of a 30+ year teaching career and most of that in Temecula School district, there are probably former students that would love to reach out to him as they hear that he's retiring.  In fact the idea dawned on me when Cathy in the front office told me her daughter who is now in college had written him a letter.

I'm hoping that this blog address can circulate on FB and get the word out!   Since Mr. B loves all things Techie, a blog will be perfect because even after the end of school he can check in for updates and see new messages!   Please post in the comments or if you have a special (longer) note to send, contact me and I will post it for you! (cathirb@gmail.com)

Lets see how we can Thank Mr. B for his years of teaching in Temecula!!!

  1. Mr. B, our kids have had a hero for a teacher, and all of your present and former students and even the staff of our school would agree with me entirely. You have been tremendously and amazingly effective at your job and I'm sure I'm not the only parent who can see how much you care for each and every child you encounter, not just the students in your classroom, and not just those in 3rd grade, either! Not only have I been impressed with the homework, projects, class work, and spelling tests you've assigned to challenge and excite the students, but you've been consistent in your expectations and are wonderful about making each child accountable for their actions and whether they've learned the personal responsibility of doing their work on time and to their best ability. Rewarding the students through incentives such as auctions and the Choicebook system to help them to earn rewards such as "Bike Day” is just pure genius. I have loved volunteering in your classroom and quietly grading papers or putting up bulletin boards, laughing as I hear your hilarious and charming interaction with the students. It's heartwarming to know my son is in your hands every day and is well taken care of as a child *and* as a student. You give every child, parent, and co-worker everything you have -- time, energy, resources, care, attention, and I love how you have made yourself readily available to help in any way you can and in any way you're needed. You've earned respect by demonstrating respect on a daily basis and all the kids love you for it. To say you will be missed is a gross understatement. I have known you just this one short school year, but multiply that by the 34 years you've been teaching and that's a lot of people that have been sorry to lose you. You deserve and have entirely earned your retirement and all that comes with it…the kids gave you a huge amount of relaxation and time-spending ideas to help you to adjust to just being Dale Borgeson instead of Dale Borgeson, 3rd grade teacher extraordinaire. You have touched thousands of lives and you will never be forgotten by any person who has had the great fortune of meeting you. Happy retirement, Mr. B. -- The Brown Family
