Dear Mr. Borgeson,

Thank you.  You have touched the lives of so many young people- inspiring them to be their very best.  I've seen this first hand.  I've seen the transformation that you've encouraged in my own kids and in others.  I've also been personally inspired to become a better parent.  Your helpful tips and ideas have benefited me.  Thank you.

You have an amazing gift and I am so grateful you shared that gift with our children.  You will be missed.  I hear the chatter...the parents of first and second graders wishing that you would postpone your retirement just a few more years!   Well, you deserve this retirement, and the 34 classes that you have taught over the years will remember you a lifetime!

Thank you~   Kristi Necochea

I am so thrilled I saw this on FB in the Growing Up in Irvine in the 80's & 90's group.  Mr. Borgeson was my fifth grade math teacher at Santiago Hills in Irvine.  He was definitely one of my favorite and most encouraging teachers.  This was way back in 1982-83 (yikes over 30 years ago).  I actually ended up becoming a math major in college and now am in technology working on financial and ecommerce web sites.  I would like to thank him for his years of teaching and I am sure he has had positive impact on countless children as he definitely had impact on me.

Mr. Borgeson,
I wanted to let you know that all of these years later I still remember my year in your class and our trip to Washington DC. Each time I see a speaker behind the podium at the White House I think about us being there and seeing Air Force One!  I did not realize until I was older the amazing impact you had on my life and how blessed I was to be in your class.
After Irvine High School, I graduated from Chapman University with a degree in Business Administration and also earned my MBA.  I worked in the marketing and public relations field for a number of years I decided to stay home after my first daughter was born.  I have been a stay-at-home mom/marketing consultant for 11 years!  I have three children, Kailtyn, 11, Kelly 3 ½ and Kaden 4 months.
I am happy for you and wish you all the best in your retirement! Thank you for touching so many lives!!!!
Love,

From former student James (Jimmy) Doone

Hey Mister B!

This is Jimmy Doone. I was in your 5th grade class of 1983/84 at Santiago Hills. I honestly can say that year in the portable classroom was the only year I truly remember. The Oregon trail game! That was awesome. I can still remember all the work I used to do to wrack-up as many team points as I could. I also fondly remember the hiking trip we did on a Saturday with Mr. Cantu (is that right?). I recently thought of you last Christmas when I returned to Washington DC for work (World Trade Advisors). It was the first time that I returned there since we went for the summer DC trip. Actually, I was telling the cab driver that the last time I was there was with you in the 80's. Hey man, you were great. I want you to know that I think very highly of you and I am very grateful for the year I had with you. Do you still have a bird in your classroom?

Enjoy your retirement!

I live in NYC now, working in finance, environment and sustainability for WTA.

Hi All,

Many people already know that Mr. Borgeson is retiring and its just days away now!  As we prepared for his special send off, I realized that over the course of a 30+ year teaching career and most of that in Temecula School district, there are probably former students that would love to reach out to him as they hear that he's retiring.  In fact the idea dawned on me when Cathy in the front office told me her daughter who is now in college had written him a letter.

I'm hoping that this blog address can circulate on FB and get the word out!   Since Mr. B loves all things Techie, a blog will be perfect because even after the end of school he can check in for updates and see new messages!   Please post in the comments or if you have a special (longer) note to send, contact me and I will post it for you! (cathirb@gmail.com)

Lets see how we can Thank Mr. B for his years of teaching in Temecula!!!
